The Cyclonic Wellhead Desander is used for the mixture of crude, water and natural gas, in which there are some produced sands and particles involved and to be removed.
As the separation efficiency of cyclonic desander device is the function of its capacity and diameter of the liner, in order to meet different requirement in the field, there are four types of liners in different sizes are available. These type of liners can meet the almost all kinds of application in the actual production in the oil fields.
The expected separation efficiency is 15 microns (50%) or smaller, under the operating conditions described in previous section.
The solids separated from the desander vessel are stored in a separated accumulator located just below the desander vessel. Once the sand reached the high level in the accumulator, two isolation valves between the two vessels are closed and pressure between valves and accumulator is released to the LP vent system or safe area, then, the sand will be flushed out by a small stream of water/produced water. During the discharge period, the desander operating continues without any interruption and the performance remain the same. The discharged sand, through the cyclonic “washing”, is rather clean, however, it cannot be dumped to the nature, but to be treated further, such as “sand washing”, until it meet the specification (eg. <1% wt.).
Features:
High separation efficiency of removing particles from the liquid or mixture, down to 1.5 to 3 microns
Compact design to minimize the weight and foot-print
Wide-range of operating turn-down
Low maintenance requirement and cost
No effect for scaling, if any.
Physical separation, no need, at all, of chemicals dosing for separation.
No consuming or wearing part to be replaced regularly.
No adjusting part and no moving part inside
